Foradil capsules are used for inhalation to treat cases of shortness of breath and difficulty breathing, as they are effective in treating asthma in conjunction with inhaled steroid medications. Foradil capsules are also used to improve respiratory function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and contribute to preventing shortness of breath during exercise.
Foradil belongs to the class of long-acting beta receptor agonists that work to activate beta-2 receptors in the smooth muscles of the airway, which leads to muscle relaxation and opening of the respiratory passages, such as the bronchi and bronchioles, which facilitates air movement and reduces mucus secretion, and helps relieve shortness of breath.
